These terms are the agreement between you and Harfred Labs (“we”, “us”) for your use of Sow Now, a free website that suggests vegetables and fruit to plant. By using it you accept them.
Guidance only
Sow Now works out what to plant from your location’s average monthly temperatures and general growing knowledge. It is guidance, not a guarantee. Weather in a given year, your soil, your microclimate, pests, disease and your own care all change how a crop does. A plant being listed as ready to plant does not mean it will thrive in your garden.
No liability for crop failure
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for crops that fail, for plants, seeds or money you spend, or for any other loss that comes from acting on what Sow Now shows. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to AUD $100. Nothing here excludes a guarantee or right that your local consumer law does not allow us to exclude; in Australia the Australian Consumer Law guarantees still apply.
Shops and affiliate links
Shop buttons take you to independent retailers. We do not sell anything, take payment or ship anything, and we are not a party to your purchase. Some links are affiliate links and may earn us a commission; this never changes what we recommend. Check each shop’s own terms, prices and delivery. See how we earn money.
Using the service
You may use Sow Now for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- overload the service or try to reach anything you are not meant to;
- copy the whole dataset or republish our pages as your own, or scrape the site at a rate that affects other people.
Content and credits
The site’s text, design and plant pictures belong to Harfred Labs. Climate data is from WorldClim 2.1 (Fick & Hijmans, 2017, CC BY 4.0) and place data from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0); both stay under their own licences. Your answers and patch are yours.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Sow Now running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or stop any part of it. Because your patch is stored only in your browser, keep your own copy of anything important (print it or save the share link).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version and its date are always on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Australia. This does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
